Over at SeededBuzz, I came across this great blog post by Lolli titled “What Has Blogging Taught You?” and this got me thinking about what blogging has done for me too. Following on from Lolli’s bullet points, here’s my take on what blogging has taught me:

* I’ve found a network of friends across the globe through social networking, whom I would never have had the chance to meet otherwise. Now l’ve a wealth of knowledge about social media and social networking – voila!

* I’ve brought up a family and held down jobs – and am stilll making a pretty good job of it all!

* I’ve been to night classes to learn Spanish, so learning all there is about setting up an online business has been just another learning curve at my age

* I love the way my online friends celebrate my successes and commiserate when I falter

* I’ve learnt that being in my early 50′s isn’t a reason to stop learning and the things I’ve learnt I can teach others.

* It’s amazing how much I can fit in around my job and running my home. I’ve learnt to burn the candle at both ends in a way I never did when I was single

* Our children were brought up to be self-sufficient and independant and have gone into the world as such. And they know we’re always here for them

* Blogging takes time and effort. But if you love it, then it’s not a chore
